The core of the WBT RCA plug is a central contact unit which consists of a pure copper signal conductor, the mass of which has been reduced to the minimum. Contact pressure is assured by means of the WBT collet chucking device, and strain relief assued by a well-proven Torx screw (Torx driver included in every 4-pack).
WBT's nextgen™ WBT-0110 Ag silver RCA connector is particularly recommended for digital connections (DACs, CD players etc) as it provides continuously adjusted connection thanks to its 75 ohm and up to 1GHz impedance (standard plugs generally have a characteristic impedance of 15-20ohm).
The contacts are manufactured from pure fine silver and passivated to provide protection from oxidation. The body is constructed of Ultramid®, while the negative contact uses Dyneon™. The Barrel is comprised of Al/Mg alloy for improved rejection of EMI, and is finished in vibrant cobalt blue. The maximum size conductor that can be used is 1.5mm² / 16-17 AWG. Maximum diameter of cable with dielectric is 9mm² / 0.354 inches².
