The Mk II upgrade to our globally best-selling Hana S Series cartridges elevates both musical performance and value. Master cartridge designer Maseo Okada introduces a new tapered aluminium cantilever with enhanced rigidity, significantly improving the transfer of groove modulations from the vinyl to the cartridge generator. The S Series Mk II cartridges incorporate higher-grade components, advanced materials, and exclusive technical processes borrowed from Hana's higher models, further enhancing the signature Hana sound.

Hana S Series Mk II cartridges use a new tapered aluminium cantilever with higher rigidity, and effective mass reduction at stylus tip, resulting in enhanced clarity. 

Critical parts, including the Yoke, Pole-pieces, and gold terminal pins have been cryogenically treated for a more natural sound.

Improved, non-resonant body shape, modelled after the Hana M Series, is damped with a matte soft feel black elastomeric resin paint, and features a brass cap with threaded cartridge mounting fittings. The heavier Mk II cartridges offer better coupling with expanded compatibility to a wider range of tonearms, improving bass and dynamics.

The SL Mk II generator, also used in the Umami Blue and ML models, features an Alnico magnet and a cross-coil design with high-purity 30-micron copper wire and an 8Ω impedance. This design enhances signal-to-noise ratio, reduces moving mass for improved resolution and tracking, and optimises performance across a wider range of phono stages.

The SL (Shibata Low output) offers 0.4mv output

The SH (Shibata High output) offers 2.0mv output

The Hana Series has been developed with significance placed on easy use and set-up, as well as high performance reproduction. Hana's high output versions, EH and SH, supply 2mV output, so that they can be directly connected to MM phono input for vinyl reproduction.
